The Mesa Public Schools' Educational Television Department won three
ASPRA*tions awards for 2009-2010. ASPRA stands for Arizona School Public
Relations Association. Ed-TV produces educational and informative
videos for schools, departments, and the community. Many of Ed-TV's
videos can be seen on Cox cable channel 99 and on the Mesa Public
Schools' Internet site. An ASPRA*tion Award of Excellence was earned for
Ed-TV's College Core video, detailing the new high school
student ranking system based on College Core classes. Ed-TV earned two
ASPRA*tion Awards of Distinction for videos promoting MyMPS Portal and
AVID. My MPS Portal is the new Internet communication portal for
parents of secondary students. AVID, or Advancement Via
Individual Determination, is a secondary program that helps turn average
students into college-bound students. David Luna is the director of
Mesa Public Schools' Educational Television Department.
